Whether you choose to cook with gas or with electricity, each will pose differences to your cooking experiences.

Naturally, gas will be a very efficient choice of fuel, therefore that means in terms of cooking, for example, a cooker oven compartment will be very quick to heat.

An electric cooker will provide you with a more even and thorough cook, however, the biggest difference will be the time it takes for the oven to heat up. A gas cooker will usually take around 10 - 15 minutes to completely heat up, whereas an electric cooker will take around 10 minutes longer.

Should you be a keen baker, it’s also important to be aware of the differences between gas and electric ovens when baking. The humidity differences between the two ovens can provide you with different results. As gas ovens are slightly more humid, you’ll find these are more beneficial for bread or pies, as the crusts are less likely to dry out. Electric ovens will provide you with greater airflow and are often preferred for baking cakes, as the moisture content will be maintained.

No matter what you choose, here at Joe Graham & Son Ltd, we have a range of gas and electric appliances available from Bosch, Siemens, and Neff for you to find your perfect home appliance.
